Psychological support for young people and their families

With over 25 years of experience across both the NHS and private sectors, I bring extensive expertise in supporting young people and their families with a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. My areas of specialism include neurodiversity—such as Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and ADHD—as well as trauma and attachment difficulties.

My approach is centred on creating a warm, safe, and supportive environment where young people and their families feel heard, understood, and genuinely connected. I believe that meaningful change and growth begin with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and empathy.

I am trained in a range of evidence-based, NICE-recommended psychological therapies, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing – Level 3 and Child), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP – Level 2), Theraplay (Level 2), as well as CBT, DBT-informed approaches, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and more.

In addition to therapeutic work, I also offer clinical supervision for professionals in the field.

Testimonials

  • "Avivit has been fantastic, very understanding and so knowledgeable in the neuro-divergence field. So far, she is the only person we have spoken with who has understood my sons issues and she has already taught us so much in terms of autism burnout and shutdown. Our lives feel different already because of this, so thank you and thanks to Dr Dekel."

  • "I have just received some really positive feedback about the support you offer to a number of our foster carers. It has really made a significant difference for foster carers and in the children in care and has really supported placement stability."
